The Energy Transition between Social and Climate Justice
As Centre of Excellence Jean Monnet on Climate Justice, we would like to advise the conference “The Energy Transition between Social and Climate Justice” organised by Fondazione Lanza, on 14th December from 17.00 to 19.00 (CET), in presence at Fondazione Lanza, Sala Biblioteca, Centro Studi e Ricerca “F.Franceschi”.
This is the second seminar of the cycle “The Ethics of Energy in the Antropochene”. A series of events as part of the project Orienting in Transition: Applied Ethics for the Cultural Life of the City which aims to reflect on and critically discuss issues of ethics in scientific research and in the life of the civil community. A contribution of the Lanza Foundation to the initiatives for the 800th year of the foundation of the University of Padua.
The seminar wants to reflect on the ethical question, in the face of the current climate, ecological and socio-environmental crisis, of renewing the responsibility that our societies must undertake to achieve a decarbonised future, dependent on energy choices. This is a fundamental point in the fight against climate change and thus on living conditions and the possibility of development of humanity today and tomorrow.
