AMAZONYA project: mapping gas flaring from below

The AMAZONYA project, realized from the research group “Climate Change, Territories, Diversity” (Dep. ICEA, University of Padova), the Unión de Afectados y Afectadas por las Operaciones Petroleras de Texaco and the Fundacion Alejandro Labaka, created the first participatory and ground-validated dataset of gs flaring activities in the Ecuadorian Amazon Region. Moreover, during the project were collected data above the thermal impact of gas flaring. Also, it allowed to document many additional sources of impact, such as the gas venting which were previously unknown.
